Position: Sr. ServiceNow Developer
Location: Austin, TX (Remote until Covid)
Exp: 9+ years

Performs analysis, development, administration, maintenance, and support of the IT Service Management (ITSM) tool(s). Plans and analyzes user requirements, system specifications, and processes to develop and automate applications, manage projects, and improve existing systems using ServiceNow. Work involves configuring, implementing, testing, and debugging ServiceNow ticket designs, workflows, automated processes, reports, and dashboards. This position performs consultations and recommends IT customer solutions, provides technical assistance to analyze and support incidents, service requests, changes, and self-service portal through completion. Provides training to staff and customers as requested.


  • Creates and analyzes customer and system requirements; makes recommendations and implements enhancements/patches/upgrades, and provides input into design changes, ensuring completeness, quality, and compliance with design and development standards; ensures requirements are addressed
  • Develops and executes configurations; coordinates, plans, and performs unit and system testing, and participates in user acceptance testing; develops and maintains system documentation
  • Performs Service Request Manager duties by utilizing ITSM tools to document and manage service requests; prepares, submits and follows documentation required for a purchase through agency approval processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of responses to service requests; compiles and prepares reports for management, as needed; performs consultations, develops and recommends IT customer solutions, and provides technical assistance to analyze and support assigned service requests through completion
  • Identifies and documents systems enhancements.
  • Acts as IT Service Management Subject Matter Expert for purposes of program planning.


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited college or university; experience in closely related fields may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Experience: 6 years Systems Design, Programming, and Implementation
  • Experience: 2 years AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform Knowledge
  • Experience: 2 years Product Owner in an Agile environment
  • Experience: 2 years Databases, Data Lakes, Data Modeling, and Data Analytics
  • Experience: 5 years Business and Systems Requirements Gathering
  • Experience: 2 years User Story Development
  • Experience: 4 years Advanced Microsoft Office Skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Experience: 2 years Development of Product Roadmaps
  • Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
  • Knowledge of modern technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google cloud platforms
  • Knowledge of the Agile Framework and System Development Lifecycle
  • Skill in planning, organizing, prioritizing, and managing special projects with deadlines, ensuring goals and objectives are met
  • Skill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines with limited direction
